Booze & Buffets

Judy's last couple of weeks in Korea were filled with 2 things:  Booze & Buffets.  Usually simultaneously.  As we said, July and August were dark months for us.  We were trapped in what we called 'The Buffet Zone.'  We were probably averaging 2 a week.  It wasn't pretty.

It really got out of control when we learned the word 'unlimited' in Korean, and then started to see it EVERYWHERE.  All sorts of places had advertised unlimited specials on food, beer, wine, you name it.  We would be out on a walk or running errands and just come across these places.  It was usually right when the special would begin too, so we'd always go.  The universe was against us.  We found ourselves waiting to be seated at restaurants like The Outback Steakhouse or TGI Fridays.  One time we waited close to 45 minutes to be seated at Ashley American Grill, a huge buffet chain that offered unlimited wine with dinner.  Dark, dark times.

When we weren't gorging ourselves under someone else's roof, we were doing it under our own while watching movies or TV.  This was also the interim period where we were out of Judy's apartment and living in Andrew's old apartment until we could move into his new one.  There were boxes everywhere and we were living out of suitcases.  Our furniture situation consisted of a drying rack, a closet, a desk and a twin bed.  It wasn't good!

So, we ate and drank to excess to make it OK.
If Jack Bauer could see through the computer screen (which he probably can, he's that badass) this is what he would have seen for at least an hour a night!
