K's B-Day

In North America, May 5th would normally be when we'd pull out our sombreros and celebrate the Mexicans kicking some snooty French arse, but this year in Korea, our Cinco De Mayo celebration served as the celebration of Kristin.

Hi Seoul Festival @ Yeouido Park

Don't be down on yourself, too much festival can make anyone vomit...

Farewell :(

Checking In

For Jessica's final meal in Korea, we introduced her to Kraze Burger, South Korea's 'gourmet' burger chain.  While it's not the best burger in the world, it's not bad, and without a doubt one of the better dining options available in the airport.

Welcome, Miss Global Beauty Queen!

Waiting for the Queen

Right as we were finishing our burgers, we noticed the entourage waiting for Miss Global Beauty Queen.  Thankfully, we had some time to spare before Jessica had to head through security, so we were able to wait and catch a glimpse of her!

As it turned out, there were two global beauty queens coming through customs.  We're not sure which countries they were from, though.  Even after looking through the 2011 MGBQ Contestants, their identities still remained a mystery.  Their touched-up and airbrushed headshots are far from the truth.  In person, they looked like super-tanned, super skinny, bleached blonde 'babes' you'd find on The Hills!

No picture of them, sorry.

Awkward goodbye picture!

A little Korean elixir to ease her stomach before the long flight...

So long, Jess!  We had a blast, thanks for coming!

A Typical Ulsan Saturday

Unknowingly, Jessica got to experience a typical Saturday in Ulsan, much like our Saturday's when we lived there.  It began, like they usually did, with a wicked soju hangover complete with nausea and a splitting headache.  From there, we headed out for a delicious breakfast, at 12:30pm...

For our first, and most important meal of the day, we took Jessica to 굴하우스, the restaurant formerly known as 굴사랑

This  place used to be called Gul Sarang, meaning Oyster Love, but since we've been away the name has changed to Gul (Oyster) House.
The change in name made us a little uneasy, but once the food arrived we discovered that only the name was different and the food was just as delicious as we remembered it being.

This little girl (Boo from Monsters Inc.) was
putting on a show for us the whole time.

Reading the informational poster about the
[sexual] benefits that come with eating oysters.

Good for man...and good for woman!

Breakfast

Enjoying our delicious, oyster breakfast was so exhausting that we decided to head back to the motel for a little nap time to recharge and get ready for the day!

On the way back to the motel, we summoned up our remaining energy and made a quick stop at E-Mart to pick up slices of pizza to dream about during our nap and enjoy once we woke up.  (We can't speak for Jessica, but we, sadly, have performed this very same pizza move a number of times ☹)

Liquor Buddy!
As if the rubbing alcohol flavor of soju isn't delicious enough, it can now taste like medicinal herbs and rubbing alcohol!

Korean bar snacks!
From left to right:  Shrimp Chips, Fried Tube Meat, Boiled Quail Eggs, Candy Coated Peanuts

Jessica taught us 2 games while she was here.  One, a car game, called 'My Cow,' in which you yell 'my cow' when you see a cow.  That's all.  There are no points recorded or cows counted.  Just yelling 'My Cow'... FAIL.  The other was this Colorado drinking game, which we can't remember, so that means it was successful, we guess. NOT FAIL.

In A Bar Until The Wee Morning Hours With Korey

The motel provided us with complimentary face masks, which of course seemed like a great pre-bedtime idea!
