After our amazing French lunch near the botanic gardens, we walked, wandered and shopped our way back towards our hotel to work up an appetite for dinner. That night, the plan was to change in the hotel and then head to Dempsey Hill to find a restaurant (or restaurants).
On our wandering adventure, we went into a few grocery stores, of course, and picked up a bottle of wine and some snacks to occupy us in the hotel while we changed and got ready.

Not distracting at all!
Dempsey Hill, actually very near where we spent the day, was formerly the site of Singapore's CMPB (Central Manpower Base) and British army barracks. Once the CMPB relocated to larger and more modern facilities, the city transformed the compound into an upscale shopping and dining center. The shopping options were limited to a handful of furniture, antique and home stores, but the selection of gourmet eateries was unlike anything we've seen in one area. There were so many that looked, smelled and sounded incredible that choosing where to eat was nearly impossible.

Andrew's dream beer!
Reddot's Monster Green Lager
The Monster Green is a beer they have on tap year round that's green because it has spirulina added to it, giving it a slightly more bitter taste and a whole list of added health benefits. (For those that don't know, Andrew has been in a sea plant phase/health-kick for the last few years, and spirulina is one of the healthiest, so to find it in booze form was cause for celebration!)
